Sleep Deprived Craziness

Wow...what a week! LOL First of all, wednesday night we had "cottage prayer meeting" with Sis Barbara and Arlene because the Garis family had left for Southern WV camp already... then we left thursday morning to spend two days at Southern WV Camp in Princeton, West Virginia. The Lord really helped in the services! Then on Saturday morning we left our motel around 5:45 AM to head home...when we got home around 11:00 AM, Luke went right to mowing the yard (Bro Hodak was doing the trimwork) and I unloaded the car, started the laundry and straightened up the house before heading over to the church to help Sis Crystal with the new Junior church theme decorating. After we finished, they took us out to eat at Subway before they headed home and we headed off to do the rest of our stuff. We cleaned the church and grocery shopped before heading home to study (well, my husband studied) and finish laundry and cleaning duties... Sunday morning we didn't have sunday school, but just regular morning worship because of the Garis family being gone. We picked up two of our teenagers-Danielle and Darius--for church. I ended up having to lead the singing because Sis Crystal could hardly talk due to allergies! LOL Oh my! I have NEVER lead the singing before..but anyhow... We had a good service and then the teens came over to our house for lunch. We had a nice time with them and it's always good to be able to share our table with our people. Today we're dragging a little bit, but too many things to get done! :0)

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my mom and dad's 34th wedding anniversary....Happy Anniversary mom and dad! They have set a beautiful example for their children of how a Christian married couple loves one another! There has NEVER been a doubt in my mind growing up of whether or not my mom and dad loved each other...it was evident in EVERY day of their lives--even with the stress of raising three kids AND pastoring a church! :0) Thank you mom and dad for loving each other and setting a beautiful example for your children to follow...

Graduation Party Celebration!

Nathan Hodak from our church graduated from High School. His parents had a party for him and invited friends and church family... It was a really nice evening and they had a good turn out! Even though it was Nathan's party, Sis Crystal remembered the other two graduates who were there (Tyler-a childhood friend of Nathans, and Danielle-a church friend). She made a special cupcake for each of the grads and placed it beside Nathan's cake. She also went around to each person there and presented them with a small bouquet of flowers and talked about a memory or something special about them...very sweet!

Grad Party Continued...

Danielle also graduated this year and will be attending Mary Baldwin this fall--we are VERY proud of her! :0)

It was also Nathan's birthday so this was the birthday cake...the smaller cupcakes around it are for the others who were there and had June birthdays...

Captured Moments

These pictures were taken around our house and in our yard...My hubby captured each of these beautiful shots! I think they're good enough to be in a magazine, but that's just my opinion...:0)

Ordination Service

This past Sunday was Ordination Sunday at Conference. There were 6 pastors who were ordained: Bro Zigler, Bro DuVall, Bro Duncan, Bro LaVan, Bro Pelton, Bro Young. Bro Cope gave the ordination message and then they began the ceremony. The pastors were ordained in the order that I listed them above. All six of the pastors and wives were standing at the altar for the whole ceremony and then knelt for the prayers of dedication. It is a great responsibility--may the Lord give strength and help to each one. The following are pictures taken during the ceremony. Also, afterwards for lunch mom LaVan had a dinner over by "our" cabin for the family and a few others. She did a wonderful job fixing Rigatoni and meatballs, a delicious salad, rolls (provided by Aunt Lois), fruit salad (provided by Aunt Doris), and the Cake was provided by my mom and dad. Thank you everyone for such a beautiful day!

Fun in the Sun

Right after conference we were able to stop over for a visit with my parents before heading home. We were able to stop at his parents on the way to conference. So, here are a few pictures we took while visiting...

Goodbyes and Good Wishes

Just thought I would post a Church update...one that I don't relish giving, however, it is part of life that we must learn to accept... James and Rachel Garis (and Hannah) have moved up to North Salem, Pa area--and will be greatly missed by their King William Church family! We wish them all the best as they serve the Lord wherever He may lead them! Keep them in your prayers.

Travelling Again

Yes, on the road again! It seems like we are hardly EVER home, but especially during the summer! Someone made the comment, "Well, we might as well close the Church doors for the summer"; because between camps and vacations and what not it seems like we're hardly ever home! LOL We will be going up for our Annual Conference this week. Also, this Sunday is ordination sunday so Luke will be one of 5, 6, or 7 (LOL I'm not sure how many but somewhere in that range) of preacher's to be ordained. So, it will be a busy week and many more busy weeks to come! Keep us in your prayers when the Lord brings us to your minds...

Blooming Fun

Yesterday night my Aunt and Uncle from Ohio were in Richmond area due to a family emergency and so they were able to spend the night with us. We were glad to have them spend time with us but not under the circumstances...however, we did have a nice visit with them and it was so nice to see some "familiar" faces from "home" again! :0) The rest of the pictures are the flowers around our house; and I thought I would share them with you...
