Just Us

While the sun was shining I took the opportunity to take some pictures of us.

It's Snowing in our Junior Church!

Recently we redecorated and changed the theme in our Junior Church. It is all decorated with snowflakes, snowman and snow! :0) The theme title is "Someone Needs Our Words Maybe Even Now". It's an acrostic of the word SNOWMEN. Clever Sis Crystal, as usual, came up with this theme for our winter months. The kids really liked it, and I LOVE it because I LOVE snowmen! :0) Each week they are learning about different kinds of words we can use to help others. Example: Week 1 was "Words of Kindness", last week was "Words of Happiness" etc...

A Look Into the Mirror

This past tuesday night was our first Women's Bible study. We had 5 ladies, including myself, that were able to attend. We are going to be doing it once a month, Lord willing, and are looking forward to many good studies! Since it was my brainstorm that we begin these, I figured it was only fair that I do the first one. We will be taking turns (different ladies in the Church) each month so that the responsibility will not lay on any one persons shoulders. This month's topic was "The Virtuous Woman" from Proverbs 31. I titled my outline, "A Look into the Mirror", thus the title of this post. Due to questions and discussion, we only got to point 4 of my 12 point outline... but that' good!!! :0) That means we weren't just breezing through an outline, but actually studying! :0) So due to the fact that we didn't finish this month, I will be in charge next month as well. I pray that this time of studying the Word together as women will be a growing time for us all. In our world today there are so many things vying(sp?) for our attention that it is sometimes hard for us to find a time when we can just get quiet before the Lord. I don't mean to infer that this Bible study takes the place of our personal devotions time, however, it is just another opportunity to set aside a special time to spend with Him. Please pray for us as we endeavor to study the Word; and as we learn what He expects from us as godly women.

Mix it up!

If you're like me, you don't always have all of the ingredients that these nice casseroles and delicious dishes call for. So you end up going out and buying them just for that specific recipe. Well, I quit doing that sometime ago, and just open my fridge, look and see what's there, and make something out of it... dangerous, I know... ;0) Actually though, I've had some good "luck" with it so far...I thought I would share one such recipe with you on here, so in case you forgot to pick up some groceries, you can use what you have! :0) This one is a Turkey Vegetable casserole. Pretty much your whole meal in one dish. Makes it nice and easy!

Approx. 2 cups of Turkey
1 can of Cream of chicken soup (or any cream soup)
1 Bag of frozen mixed vegetables
Chunks of velveeta cheese (approx. 18-20 1 inch cubes)
Add some seasonings to taste
Sprinkle on top with Italian Bread Crumbs

In a small casserole dish:

Layer 1: Turkey
Layer 2: Frozen vegetables
Layer 3: Chunks of Velveeta
Layer 4: Cream of Chicken soup
Layer 5: seasonings and bread crumbs
*This makes enough for 4 if they don't have seconds! ;0) For two people, you will be full and have leftovers for tomorrow!

Add some dinner rolls and a salad and Wah-Lah! :0) I hope you enjoy it if you try it. We did! :0)

Proclaim in King William

We were privileged to have the Proclaim mixed quartet from AWC visit us this past sunday morning. It was only their second PR service with the new group but they did very well. We enjoyed having them! Unfortunately they didn't get to stay with us this time, not even for sunday dinner, so we packed them a lunch to eat on the road. Bro Quales travelled with them this time as the PR director. The group includes:Scott Bennett, Ashley McCain, Susie S (sorry, I can NEVER spell her last name right! LOL), and Stephan Latonek (SP?).

Fun Times with our Teens

We try to have a youth night each month, however, now that our teens are getting older, they have jobs, college, and responsibilities of their own that make it hard to settle on a date that will work. We did manage, however, to set a date where they could all make it. There were 5 of them that night and we had fun. We ate sloppy joes, chips, cake and ice cream; then played cosmic keepaway and pit. Lots of action and noise! Wild times, but fun. :0) We love each one of them, and pray that they will serve Jesus. That is the ONLY way to find true love, happiness and success in life.

Happy Birthday Jesus-Christmas Program at last!

Due to weather and other circumstances, our Christmas program this year was pushed to January 3rd. I guess it doesn't really matter as long as we celebrate the true meaning! :0) The kids did a very good job and some of their parents were able to come, so that was a blessing. We are thankful for each one of our children, and are trusting the Lord to help us rebuild our junior church once more.

And a new year begins...

Wow...it's just so hard to believe it's already 2010! Time sure has a way of just marching on whether you're ready or not...So much has happened this year. We have gone through alot of trials, but we have received many blessings as well. Thank the Lord for bringing us through another year; and we are trusting Him to take us through this one if He should tarry. I'm so glad that we have Him to lean on through all of the hard times in our life. I don't know what I would do without Him! The words of the song "He will carry You" say it all: "There is no problem too big, God cannot solve it. There is no mountain too tall, He cannot move it. There is no storm too dark, God cannot calm it. There is no sorrow too deep, He cannot soothe it. If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders I know, my brother that He will carry you. If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders. I know, my sister that He will carry you! He said come unto me all who are weary, and I will give you rest." He takes care of His children; we just need to learn to trust Him more... I want to lean on Him more this year, and trust Him with all my burdens.
