Food for the Soul and Body
Yesterday was a full day as usual...however, it was a very good day. The Lord came and really helped in the morning song service; and it was such a blessing to feel His presence! Our attendance was pretty good too so that is always and encouragement!:0) In the evening service, Sister Corbin did a service on their mission work in Peru. It was a very good sevice and really touched my heart... We need to remember to keep our missionaries in our prayers as they are facing so many things on their various fields! Its so easy for us here in America compared to what others face in different countries. How blessed we are! After the service, Sister Corbin and her daughter Joanna, as well as James, Rachel and Hannah came over to the parsonage for snack. We had a nice time of fun and fellowship!

New Authors
I realize that this is not the most exciting post for some of you to read...however, I am a very avid reader... In fact, I spend time reading probably more than I should. It is my way to relax and unwind I guess. Anyhow, if by chance, some of you are like me...you have found that all your favorite authors just don't write fast enough! LOL I have a list of several of my "favorite" authors but I have read all of the books that they have put out...so... I began looking for new authors that held the same values that I enjoy reading. First of all, I'll list some of my favorite authors to give you an idea of my reading style: Ted Dekker, Brandilyn Collins, Terri Blackstock, Jan Karon, Beverly Lewis. I feel like I'm missing some but that at least gives you an idea... So when i was looking for new authors I mentioned it to my aunt; so she suggested Colleen Coble to me, and of the books that I have read I really have enjoyed them... Kathy Herman is another new author that I have really enjoyed reading. So...if you have any good authors to suggest please do so by leaving it in the comments box! I'm sure we will all benefit from it!

News and Blessings Abundant
First of all, thanks to all of you who participated in the birthday blogging party! Hope you all had fun! :0) In other news, we have added a member to our church...a very special member I might add... :0) James and Rachel Garis had a beautiful baby girl born to them on friday. She is absolutely gorgeous! Congratualtions to the very blessed mommy and daddy! :0) However, we've had a rough couple of days already this week; but I think we might be on the mend now. LOL My poor hubby got an ear infection that we had to get taken care of and so now he's on the good old Amoxacillon (or however you spell that). So the Lord is good and we can't thank Him enough for His many, many blessings!

Favorite Valentines Day Memory
Since its valentine's day today, I thought I would relate to you all my favorite valentine's day memory... 2 February's ago, I was still in college at PVBI and my (then) boyfriend was still attending AWC. So, that made it near impossible for us to see each other on this special day...or so I thought... well, my parents were supposed to come out to the school for the day so that helped ease the loneliness a little; but I still wanted to see my sweetie on this romantic holiday... To make a long story short, my sweet man surprised me and came out with my parents to the school (in a horrible snowstorm!!!). Needless to say I was so excited and thrilled to see him! On top of all that, he brought me my favorite roses (12 fire and ice); my favorite candy (reese peanut butter cups); and took me out to a little restaurant in spite of the horrible weather. It was there that he told me for the first time that he loved me and gave me the "key to his heart". I was so overwhelmed by it all that I didn't say right then that I loved him back! LOl By the end of the evening, however, I was able to tell him with absolute surety that I loved him back with all my heart! And I still do! He's the most wonderful man in the world and I am so happy and blessed to call him my husband! :0)

Kids will be Kids
I normally wouldn't share something along these lines on such a public place; however, I just thought this one was too funny to keep to myself. Plus, I know that you all will understand the situation and why I shared it with you. Many of you have heard stories about our infamous Thomas... He has been a source of many illustrations and laughs for us over the past few months. First let me give you some background information... the first thing he does when he comes into the sunday school class on sunday morning (I teach the primary class) is open the window... No matter if it is 10 degrees or 70 degrees, it doesn't seem to matter. Since he is such an active child, I try to choose my battles with him and so this is one I let him win (sometimes...). So, nothing was much different this past week. He came in, opened the window, and promptly sat on the window ledge. I ignored it for a little while (since it was a beautiful 71 degrees out) but when he started popping the screen out I thought I should say something. So I told him to get down and sit on the bench...I admit, I was NOT prepared for his response... He said (and I will not say exactly the word he used...) , "But I (passed gas)!" And sure enough, we soon realized he was telling the truth...and I was wishing I had allowed him to sit up on the window ledge for a little while longer... LOL With him, you just NEVER know what he will do next...

Bible Study
Last night we went to Nancy J's house for a Bible study. Originally we planned that we would do these on a monthly basis at her home. However, she broke her foot and so for awhile was not up to having company and wasn't feeling well; so we put them off for awhile. Last night was the first one of the year and it went pretty well. We are so grateful for her hunger for the truth. She has quite a few questions and there are things she may not understand; but we are glad that she feels comfortable enough to ask them. Help us pray that the Lord will continue to work in Nancy's heart and life.

Sunday Antics
Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. To start with, our bus children were pretty wild, which isn't that unusual except we had a new little one to add to the mayhem...she was a very hyper active and independant 3 year old. So you can imagine that she added quite a spice to the sunday school hour as well as Junior church! :0) We are always happy to have new ones come and join us, however, I think setting an age limit is a wise idea... LOL We also had another new girl come this sunday but she was older and was actually pretty quiet and reserved. Sunday evening we picked up 3 teenagers for night service. It is always such a blessing to have them interested in coming to the evening service. However, we are going to be losing one of our most faithful teens in a few months... she will be graduating from high school and is planning on going to college some distance away. We will miss her a whole lot! I just hope that what she has learned here at church will stay with her and she will give her heart to Jesus someday. Please keep us and our teenagers in your prayers.
